A Toast Box Dessert is really exactly that. You take an uncut toast bread and take out the center parts. (If your bread is fairly long, you could cut it in half to make two toast boxes)
Some people cube their toast but I left my in strips. Butter and sugar the bread pieces. You could either bake them or just pan fried them. I choose to pan fry mine.
Stuff all the bread back in. BTW, ideally you would toast the outside shell too (You could also butter the shell as well)... I was too lazy to.
Once your bread is reassembled, then just go crazy with your favorite toppings!
Here is a shot of my bread stuffed back in.
Toppings I used: Vanilla ice cream, whipped cream, almonds, strawberry, Oreo, cheesecake chunks, caramel and chocolate sauces.
Other options: Any fruit (ie. Banana would be a good one), frosted flakes, any sort of candies, long Asian cookies like Japanese pocky
