Synopsis: Famous for being a criminal radar, our heroine Hanada Yoneko is a 35 year old detective who is determined to get married no matter what. Hanada's simple dream of marrying herself off only has one small problem: for some strange reason, every man Hanada falls for always ends up being a criminal.
Konkatsu Deka Episode 1 & 2 First Impression
This show is FUN! The premises is just so odd but the show does such a great job capitalizing on the comedy aspects that as a viewer I really don't care that you find out who the killer is within the first five minutes of the show.
There really is no surprise what so ever when it comes to who the real killer is since as the premise of the show states: Whoever our heroine falls for = the killer.
What's amazing to me more than the heroine's "super radar" ability is Hanada somehow has the guts to just keep falling in love even when it always end badly...
and sometimes almost deadly, since not all of the guys meekly holds out their hands for her to cuff them.
Now, just because the premise of the story is pretty straight forward there are actually plenty of intrigue to go around. Our hero, an elite detective, Fujioka Tsutsuji (Koike Teppei), that just transferred into Hanada's department for example is actually one of the biggest puzzle by episode 2.
As a detective who is very methodical and the one who always manages to solve the murder cases, Fujioka sneers at the precinct's legend about Hanada's criminal radar.
Anyhow, Konkatsu Deka is certainly a winner in my book judging by the first two episodes. The episodes fly by quickly and what's more importantly this show is just so funny. Maybe not laugh out loudfunny every minute but certainly funny enough that it keeps a smile on my face for most of the hour. So check it out if you are in the mood for a light J-drama.
