Ninja's Drama Survey Tuesday

Ninja's Drama Survey
Lately I have been pondering about why I started drama blogging in the first place. The short answer is that it was completely on a lark but the long answer is actually that I wanted a way to interact with people who loves Asian drama as much as I do. The more I thought about my long answer the more I realized that I have been focused on writing my own thoughts without any way of getting insights into what everyone else is watching.

I have long since found myself wondering "Hey, I LOVE this show...I wonder if anyone else like it as well?" or "Hmm...this one is getting boring. Am I the only one that feel like that?" but since blogging is usually a one way street of spilling out my thoughts without anyway of getting feed back (unless some awesome reader leaves a comment), I thought maybe we could try a weekly drama poll that allows me a peak into what everyone else is watching.

  1. Mostly I am reading the recaps for Scarlet Heart because I can't handle all the angst. I am watching One Percent of Something (loved the original), Jealously Incarnate (laugh out loud funny), and Let's Drink (cute). I just finished Second to Last Love (mehhhh). I also picked up Fantastic since it is almost over, I really want to see the wicked in laws get what is coming to them. I am pretending not to care about Prince of Wolves or the swimming one. I just check in every once in a while to see if they are still ridiculous.

    1. Oh! Someone actually watching Prince of Wolves! Did it get better after the first two episodes or worse? I was too scared to go back and check.

    2. I made it through four episodes of Prince of Wolf, and it only got worse (imo) as it went along. I so wanted it to be good, or just bad enough to be funny, but unfortunately it never got there for me.

  3. Hey Ninja,
This is a good idea and it's nice to see what other people are watching. Interesting to see the results reflect the public sentiment in general about Scarlet Heart and Moonlight. On the Way and Fantastic also deserving some attention.

I would like to thank you for writing about dramas - I like your brevity and observations which are quite similar to my own. I check out dramas based on your comments! Keep up the good work, thank you, thank you!

  4. Hi Ninja,
Thank you for doing this! I watch a lot of the Taiwanese drama done by SETTV, and I really appreciate how you recapped Refreshman, Love at 17,and Bromance. Even though I can understand the gist of the drama, I'll usually rely on your recaps to clarify any small details or plots that I don't understand. I was wondering if you could start recapping Taiwanese dramas again, since I've noticed that lately most of the recapped dramas have been Korean or Japanese.

    Thank you so much!

    1. I would love to do more T-drama recaps but there just hasn't been any shows I like enough to do so lately. I was really hopping Swimming Battle would work for me but I just wasn't interested enough to recap it. There are some promising shows coming up soon though so I am crossing my figures!

  5. Filled out the survey but forgot to add 1% of anything! Liking that one too.

  6. Thank you for this survey. I always stop by to get your opinion/recap/summary about any new drama, especially japanese or Chinese ones. Actually, even though I love Moon Lovers, I feel too sad/scared of the pain the OTP is going through. So I read the Soompiers comments instead. Coward!
Moon Lovers has a huge impact on me, I can only watch Japanese drama now. Career and Lady DaVinci (cops and doctors) are top on my list now.

  7. Hi Ninja
Have never said it before but I have been following your blog for a very long time now and it's one of my favorites. I always look forward to your Friday feature. I find your succinct reviews and summaries really good for deciding whether to look up a drama or not and I also love the nostalgia part as its like a surprise, discovering or rediscovering many old gems that you reminisce about.
Having said that this survey is a really cool idea! My favorite drama currently is Drinking Solo and I am looking forward to watching We Get Married as a Job (saw it first on your blog!) . Unexpectedly the unassuming male lead is turning out to be a real fun character to watch!

  8. I'll be watching k2. For now I'm following 1% of Something, and Here Comes Love (a daily KDrama of 120 episodes) and re-watching for the nth time Shan Shan Comes to Eat, Love o2o/A Smile is Alluring and Noble My Love. I'm a regular visitor to your blog (lurking in the shadows although I came out to comment a few times in the past when I had more time.)

I don't know why but the two other options in your survey don't appeal to me.

    1. Are you talking about the two open ended questions at the end of the survey don't appeal to you?
